Life Groups are your way to experience Christ centered community at Shepherd. These small groups exist to bring the people of our church together to experience encouragement, prayer, and support while we study the Bible!
We have groups that meet at homes and coffee shops, as well as groups that meet online. No matter what season of life youre in, there is a group that you can belong to.
Dudley Rutherford Lead Pastor
As the lead pastor of Shepherd Church, Dudley Rutherford is passionate about preaching Gods Word without compromise, leading people to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, and lifting Him up that the world might believe. He is the founder of Dream of Destiny, which empowers leaders to cultivate unity and diversity in Christian churches and colleges. Dudleys sermons are broadcast nationwide on the weekly Lift Up Jesus television program through the GEB Network and DirectTV. His most recently published works are, One Thing: Rediscover a Simpler Faith in Our Complicated World, and “Compelled: The Irresistible Call to Share Your Faith.
Dudley began his ministry in the Midwest and moved to Northridge, California in 1987 to become the pastor of Hillcrest Christian Church. In 1995, Hillcrest merged with Shepherd of the Hills and became the present-day Shepherd Church. Today, the church has grown to 12,000 people across three locations in the Greater Los Angeles area. Shepherd Church has been called the most racially diverse church in Los Angeles by the citys mayor.

Shepherd Church is a nondenominationalmegachurch based in Porter Ranch, Los Angeles, California, USA.The senior pastor is Dudley Rutherford.In 2008, Outreach Magazine ranked Shepherd of the Hills 92nd in size in America, with attendance of 7,400.Some criticize churches like this, calling them “church lite”, but others say they help people who find the experience more accessible than traditional churches.
The church, registered as Shepherd Of The Hills-Hillcrest Christian Church, was formed in 1995 when Hillcrest Christian Church in Granada Hills merged with Shepherd of the Hills Church in Porter Ranch. Since then the church has expanded to more than 10,000 members worshiping at 21 different venues each weekend.There are four daughter churches and seven satellite campuses.
In October 2006 the church opened its first hybrid, Westside Shepherd of the Hills Church, based at the Wadsworth Theatre on the grounds of the Veterans Administration in Brentwood, California.Rutherford travelled to the new location almost every Sunday to deliver the message.
The church now has campuses in Porter Ranch and Woodland Hills.
In addition, there are programs for seniors, veterans, those who have lost loved ones, small group discussions for adults, and much more.
